Day 13 - Helsingborg to Hallandia

Kattegattleden - Day 2

Epic breakfast at our hotel.

Biked 59 miles today, 1,455' climb and burned 3,885 cal. Was a great route along the coast, we had to cut a few sections off to make it to Gothenburg in 2 more days, making each day about 50 miles per day.

There are a lot of American muscle car enthusiasts here in Sweden. We've seen tons of 1950's-70's American cars, even a Caddy pulling a huge travel trailer. Unfortunately I wasn't fast enough with the camera to actually get pictures while biking.

The "1" route is really well marked, just about every turn has a sign indicating the trail. We even rode a while right on the beach.

We had dinner at a place called Pinchos, it's completely app based for ordering food. Their app had tons of problems registering us, sending a confirmation text, acknowledging the order we placed... It's a tapas place with small plates, definitely a unique experience, but the dishes were soo tiny, the photos in the menu made them look like small dishes, but wasn't expecting them to be that small!

After dinner we walked around the old town, and listened to live Swedish music in the park. People here know how to relax, there are so many places to just hang out, and people actually hang out; this is something missing from American work culture.

Our hotel for the night was Scandic Hallandia $184/night. The hotel is right in the heart of the city, tons of restaurants within walking distance, and the hotel is right on the water. Everything was newly remodeled, clean, and even had a fan in the room to help dry laundry. I didn't realize it, but 3 of the 4 nights were booked with Scandic hotels, which is a good thing.
