| Aug 29, 2025 In the morning, someone was rebuilding an airplane propeller in the hotel dining room which I thought was funny, and uniquely Swiss. We took the train from Interlaken West to Montreux (2h15m) and checked into our hotel ( Hotel Eden Palace au Lac). The hotel is right on the lake, and is grand in every sense. The breakfast is in this huge ball room. We ate lunch next door at Palais Oriental which looks like a mosque inside, every inch is covered in mosaic tile. We biked to Chillon castle, and spent an hour or so walking around. Our goal was to bike to the French boarder, but 3 huge waves went over Jen's head and she was completely soaked to the core. We bailed on the biking idea for the night, and headed back by train to get dry and warm. Only a few miles of biking today so no .GPX routes posted. One of the pictures shows the back of our shirts, I had them made from a picture from our previous bike trip through Sweden. original pic |
