| Aug 30, 2025 We took the train from Montreux to Geneva, and biked back. The .GPX route from Geneva to Montreux shows 2,910' of climbing and we followed the route to a tee. Strava on my phone recorded 1,822' and my Garmin GPS recorded 2,103'. It was a lot of miles, and a lot of climbing. We hadn't originally planned to do the whole ride in one shot, but we were feeling great and even decided to repeat the 5 miles we did the previous day just so we could say we did the entire route. We got a late start leaving Geneva (around 2pm), so the last hour or so of biking was especially dark. We were navigating the trails by the light of our phones, and reached the hotel around 9:30pm. Still an amazing day, and loved every minute. We discovered this quaint town called Yvoire, definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. We bought some pastries and cakes, I had to use my tire levers as a spoon in last act of desperation. Had Pizza and Tiramisu at Moreno. |
